Should'ing all Over

We've heard this term before, right? Stop "shoulding" all over yourself.

Have you ever been trying to enjoy something and you can't because you feel like you should be doing something else instead. Spending time with your family but thinking you really should be working. Relaxing or doing something fun but you feel as though you should be productive. Sitting down on the couch during naptime and watching Below Deck Med and Eating Stacy's Pita chips when really you 'should' be cleaning.

How often have your should's robbed you of your fun and enjoyment of being in the present moment? A lot right!? When we live in a fast paced world and put a lot of pressure on ourselves, add in comparison, societal standards and type A then we have a recipe that goes well in a pressure cooker.

So as a Mom, as someone going through infertility. As someone not quit where they want to be in life. Waiting to meet there significant other, waiting to get married, grieving. Whatever the case is we all have the pressure and should's that we put on ourselves. We SHOULD be doing this is we want to get there. We SHOULD be doing that if we want this.

So how do you get out of that. How do you live free. Live in the moment, be here now.

Stop 'should-ing' on yourself.

Consider, you are exactly where you are supposed to be. Consider if you are listening to your heart that is exactly what you are meant to be doing in that moment.

Get rid of should and replace it with 'I want to'.

What do you want to be doing in this moment? And consider that just the hustle isn't going to get you to where you want to be. Especially if you take out the rest part or the fun part or the part that you are meant to enjoy, which is the whole journey. The Universe wants you to be happy, light, carefree, childlike, full of love and joy. Because that is why you are here. God created you to be your best self. To BE light. To light up the world. And how do you show up like that if you are all uptight and stressed the F out? You can't.

So lighten up. Get up, get aligned, level up and be your true self. Drop the 'I should be doing this', drop the pressure and listen to what your heart is telling you, you WANT to be doing. What feels good and lights you up. What is the next step and the next aligned step. Forget about all the 20 thousand steps that come in front of that one. Just focus on the next one that you need to take. The next aligned action step that is right in front of you.
